Selectman’s Meeting
May 6, 2008 Tuesday 3:30PM
Selectmen present: Nelson Grindal, Bill Jagger and Tom O'Connor. Other participants: Selectman’s assistant Barbara Grindle and Janet Toth of the Eastern Maine Development Corporation.
- Approved the minutes of the May 1, 2008 selectman’s meeting.
- Ms. Toth presented information on a state economic development program called Pine Tree Zones. The program offers tax incentives for businesses to locate in areas that have applied for the Pine Tree Zone designation and have a high unemployment rate. Selectmen wanted time to review the materials Ms. Toth handed out concerning the program.
- Selectmen voted 2 to 0 (1 abstention, Grindal) to accept the bid of Aaron Grindal to provide cedar shingles siding for the town office. The town received two bids for the project and Mr. Grindal was $2,100 less than the second bid.
- Selectmen appointed Bill Donnell as the town’s second representative to the Hancock County Planning Committee.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:30PM.
