Selectmen’s Meeting
March 6, 2007 Tuesday 3:30PM
Selectmen present: Chairman, Nelson Grindal, Bill Jagger and Tom O'Connor. Other participants: Public access committee members, Emily Webb, Barbara Grindle, Diane Kornmeir and Basil Bowden.
- Approved the minutes of the March 1, 2007 selectmen’s meeting.
- The results of the town wide survey have been tabulated and the results follow:
Do you favor developing a Town beach / public park on Walker Pond 241 yes 66 no
If so do you approve of the towns effort to develop a right of way to the Town owned property? 215 yes 75 no
If negotiations to develop this right of way fail, do you favor pursuing the town’s legal options? 146 yes 139 no
If not, do you favor selling the property and banking the money until a more suitable property becomes available? 89 yes 166 no
Do you favor a land swap of the town’s 28 acres for a 6 acre parcel on the pond in Brooksville which has access? This offer includes a drilled well and $25,000 to develop the site. 111 yes 164 no
- Selectmen and committee members discussed developing a detailed plan detailing what we want to accomplish at the town owned property. Preliminary work will begin and participants will meet again next week.
