Selectmen’s Meeting
December 4, 2008 Thursday 6:30PM
Selectmen present: Nelson Grindal, Bill Jagger and Tom O'Connor. Other participants: Selectmen’s assistant Barbara Grindle, Clerk/ Treasurer Cindy Reilly. Also in attendance was the Budget committee: Steve Toby Chairman, Horace Wardwell and Paul Trowbridge. Fire Chief David Carter.
- Approved the minutes of the December 2, 2008 selectman’s meeting.
- Approved the Treasurers warrant (#23) in the amount of $10,847.98.
- Members of the budget committee reviewed and approved the Fire Department budget which is projected at $39,500. Chief Carter answered questions concerning the various expenditures. The committee also approved a request for $15,000 for Walker Pond expenditures which will be discussed and voted on at a special town meeting on January 13, 2009. Selectmen and committee members also went through the preliminary town budget for 2009/2010.
- Selectmen voted 3 to 0 to approve and sign a Joint Exercise of Powers agreement between the towns of Sedgwick and Brooksville which will govern development of the town property on Walker Pond. The document requires voter approval at a special town meeting on January 13, 2009 at 5:00PM. The meeting will be held at the town house just prior to a public hearing on the plan to consolidate our school district.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 pm.
