SELECTMEN’S MINUTES
September 7, 2017
Opened the meeting and declared a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Colby Pert, Michael Sheahan. Also present: Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, Assistant Barbara Grindle.
There being no errors or omissions in the minutes of the last meeting, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to accept the minutes as written.
Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $129,067.39; school expenses $110,859.94, salaries and taxes $9,212.83, public access road $1,872, legal $312, general assistance $350, fire department expenses $508.79.
NEW BUSINESS: Looking for someone that might be interested in attending a telecommunications meeting on September 18. Call the town office at 359-2275.
One estimate received for a roof over the handicap ramp, Pert will contact some other contractors to get estimates.
State is offering a course for municipal weights and measures appointees.
Discussed the panel discussion program on recreational marijuana issues as advertised in the Packet. May try to attend the meeting on September 18 at 6:30 p.m.
Received a complaint about a mess at the Redemption Center. New owners are working to catch up and clean up.
Moved, seconded and voted to have Sheahan fix storage area for clerk and tax collector office.
OLD BUSINESS: Asked clerk to contact the landscape committee members to see if they are still interested and try to set up a meeting.
Town attorney’s office checking notes regarding parking area at Salt Pond. Four to eight spaces should constitute a ‘small’ parking area.
ASSISTANT questioned if anyone had heard about young man who was to do volunteer time at the office. He was sent to an Ellsworth job by the sheriff’s department and put his time in there.
CEO REPORT: CEO in Portland.
No Public present.
ADJOURN: There being no further business, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to adjourn at 7:10 p.m.
