Selectmen’s Minutes, November 24, 2009

TOWN OF SEDGWICK

SELECTMEN’S MEETING

November 24, 2009

The Selectmen’s meeting was held this week on Tuesday instead of Thursday, so everyone could enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday.

Opened at 6:30 by First Selectman Nelson Grindal.  Present besides Grindal were Selectmen Jagger and Smith.  Also present were  Paul Trowbridge, Sara Christy, Carolyn McClure, Road Commissioner Paul Carter, Packet reporter Jonathan and Jane Thomas, Treasurer/Clerk Cindy Reilly, Assistant Barbara Grindle.

1)      Read and approved the minutes of the last meeting.

2)      Trowbridge checked with the selectmen about the approval of the grant application.  They had not checked the papers carefully, so discussion was postponed except for that the application was in Grindal’s name, not that of the town, and the property is that of Gordon Gianinnato, not Grindal.  Trowbridge will contact them about changing these items; he also asked about insurance and Grindal will check with Maine Municipal about coverage through the town policy.

3)      Christy and McClure asked about right of way access to a piece of property they own that has no access.  Selectmen can’t do anything about conflicts between private landowners.  They were given names of adjacent landowners to contact for possible right of way access.

4)      Signed the warrant of $103, 970.10.  School expenses were $60,993.07 and the fourth quarter payment to the transfer station was $23,741.50.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 8 pm.
