TOWN OF SEDGWICK
SELECTMEN’S MEETING
May 18, 2017
Opened the meeting at 6 p.m. and established a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Colby Pert, Michael Sheahan. Also present: Bob Publicover, Christine diPretoro, CEO Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle.
There were no errors or omissions, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to dispense with reading of the minutes of the last meeting and accept them as written.
Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $19,238.69; general assistance for $300, administration for $56.81, town office improvements (bathroom) $15,576.71, town house repairs (door) $2040.17.
NEW BUSINESS: Strong Brewery had questions about their amusement permit. They will fill out the paperwork and then there will be a public hearing for their permit.
Signed the contract with B & B Paving of the town roads. Road Commissioner has verified the amounts of tar needed. Moved, seconded and voted to sign the contract.
DiPretoro has volunteered to do basic landscaping around the town office. Moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to accept with thanks. Kermit Allen Jr. will mow the lawns as in previous years.
Assistant will have a disbursement report for the week of June 1. Year ends on June 30.
OLD BUSINESS: Reminder about town dock and school workday on Saturday.
Town dock punch list is assumed to be complete. Engineer was to examine and get back with anything that still needs to be done, hasn’t gotten back to anyone.
There are five bid packages out for the town property. Public opening of bids on June 8 at 6 p.m.
Posting agenda. Business with the selectmen will still be heard if not on the published agenda. Publishing is for advance notice on items for those interested. Voting may be held over to the next meeting if discussion indicates that more time is needed to make a proper decision.
Still reviewing town-owned, tax exempt, and public access property.
Assistant reported that flags are ready to be distributed to cemetery associations for placement before Memorial Day.
CEO REPORT: DEP training session on Shoreland Zoning. Working on the erosion control application for the Town Dock. Auction for the Caterpillar Hill property that has the ‘temporary’ anemometer on it scheduled for May 24.
ADJOURN: There being no further business, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to adjourn at 7:08 p.m.
