TOWN OF SEDGWICK
SELECTMEN’S MEETING
June 29, 2017

Opened the meeting and determined a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Colby Pert, Michael Sheehan. Also present: Robert Jones, CEO Duane Ford, Treasurer/clerk Cindy Reilly, Assistant Barbara Grindle.

Moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to dispense with reading of the minutes of the last meeting and accept them as written.

Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $83,395.28; large expenses were for tarring $80,057.47, general assistance $750, and administration (stamps) $980.

NEW BUSINESS: End-of-the-year figures.
Marijuana moratorium – we need a special town meeting to extend the moratorium another 180 days. Will set a date soon. Legislature will not vote on final regulations until September.
Moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to send a thank you note to Woodward’s for the work done and the effort of working around the town office schedule. Assistant to get card and leave it for signatures.
Mrs. Taylor would like to reserve the Town House on July 29 for a memorial service for Brockway McMillan. Moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to allow the reservation.
Taxpayers in to discuss back taxes. Selectmen will work with them.

OLD BUSINESS: Honey do list from assistant: remove dying pine tree, look into cost of pegboard for the lobby, checking for a cover for the handicap deck and safety paint for the steps and ramp.
Decided not to enter the Hancock County waste collection program.
Salt Pond deeds and exhibits should be ready by next week. Town attorney checking them carefully to make sure they are accurate.

CEO REPORT: A Ferry Landing Rd change, mobile home park purchase, erosion project at Town Dock all on schedule. Erosion decision to get permit and then find rocks to use and prices for them, get easement cleared. Working steadily.

ADJOURN: There being no further business, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to adjourn the meeting at 7:35 p.m.
