Selectmen’s Minutes, July 10, 2014

TOWN OF SEDGWICK

JULY 10, 2014

 

            Opened the meeting and established a quorum present.  Selectmen present were:  Neil Davis, Nelson Grindal, Victor Smith.  Also present:  Treasurer Cindy Reilly, CEO Duane Ford, Road Commissioner Paul Carter, Robert Jones, Assistant Barbara Grindle.

 

            Read and approved the minutes of the last meeting.

 

            Signed the treasurer’s warrant for $146,880.65; school expenses were $47,019.99, tarring $85,940.69, dues for Hancock County Planning Commission $1,185.00, and insurance from MMA $5,740.50.

 

            Signed a quit claim deed for the treasurer.

            Sent a fax to the assessing agent regarding a taxpayer’s assessment question.

 

OLD BUSINESS:  Motion made to move the right of way on the Carter property regarding the Salt Pond Access.  Seconded and voted 3-0 to send the motion to the lawyer.  Money for the legal work is to come from the Public Access account.

            The Planning Board meeting Tuesday evening did not have a quorum, therefore no business was conducted.

 

NEW BUSINESS:         RoadCommisioner was asked to check on the beavers at the Old County Road access to Black’s Pond.

                        Selectmen and road commissioner agreed that the parking lot at the Town House is still not large enough.  Will expand it some more this summer as time permits.

 

CEO REPORT:             Will be attending a class on ADA (disability/handicap regulations) and will ask about some situations at the Walker Pond Access.

 

ADJOURN:      There being no further business, the motion was made, seconded and voted 3-0 to adjourn  the meeting at 7 pm.
