Town of Sedgwick Maine
Selectmen’s Meeting
February 13, 2007 Tuesday3:30PM
Selectmen present: Chairman Nelson Grindal, Charlie Wiggins and Tom O'Connor. Other participants: Access committee members Barbara Grindle, Diane Kornmeir, Basil Bowden, Emily Webb and Neil Davis. Also, Jacob Berry and Bill Donnell
- Approved the minutes of the February 8, 2007 selectmen’s meeting.
- Mr. Berry stated that his wife was involved in an accident on Old County Rd. on Monday and that the road was icy at the time. Mr. Berry was informed that selectmen became aware of the icing problem on Monday. The problem was caused by a culvert which had frozen not allowing water to run through it consequently the water ran onto the roadway. Upon learning of the problem selectmen made arrangements through Billings and Webb to have an excavator brought to the site to dig out the culvert and divert the water. The roadway was kept well sanded while awaiting the arrival of the equipment.
- The access committee met to review the preliminary results of the town beach survey and discuss various options as to the best way to proceed with the issue. It was agreed that a special town meeting, devoted solely to the access issue should be held. At this meeting facts and figures would be presented to voters for approval. This meeting will be scheduled in late spring or early summer.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:25PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Tom O'Connor Selectman
