SELECTMEN’S MEETING
December 12, 2019

Opened the meeting and declared a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Michael Sheahan.
Also present: John Devin (DOT), John Higgins (Alewife Comm.), Julie & Bob (VHB), Ben Matthews (Nature Consv.), Ciona Ulbrich (ME Coast Heritage Trust), Alison & Jerry Wetterskog, CEO/LPI Duane Ford, Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, Assistant Barbara Grindle.

Read and approved the minutes of the last meeting with a date change (Jan. 2 not Jan. 1).

Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $112,539.36; education $ 96,478.97, general assistance $1,961, clearing m/v $3,364.50, fees $134, administration $8,006.63, fire department $885.71, snow $1,708.55.

CEO REPORT: Planning Board meeting last Tuesday, question should we have a marijuana ordinance (catching up on laws), following up on a dock and pier at Harding Lane, catching up on paperwork on a property on Christy Hill, a power line easement on Carter Point. Notice from state on seasonal properties regarding septic systems needing mandatory inspections when being sold.

DISCUSSION ITEMS: VHB representative presented the designs for the Snow’s Cove Culvert Replacement for alewife stocking. Ulbrich presented financial data, with the approval of two grants –one a $490,000 federal grant – the matching funds for the $1.1 million project have been received. The road will be closed for two to four weeks in July as soon as approved by DOT, probably for a 2021 project.
Budget Discussion: Began reviewing expenses for the half year. Only new item, so far, is $15,000 to be taken from surplus for the transfer station. If not used, the funds would revert back into surplus.

ADJOURN: There being no further business, moved, seconded and voted 2-0 to adjourn the meeting at 8:23 p.m.
