TOWN OF SEDGWICK

SELECTMEN’S MEETING

December 10, 2015

 

Opened the meeting and established a quorum.  Selectmen present:  Neil Davis, Nelson Grindal.

Also present:  GG Gray, Bob Publicover, Robert Jones, CEO Duane Ford, Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, Assistant Barbara Grindle.

 

Read and approved the minutes of the last meeting.

 

Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $170,810.92; education costs $167,185.91, fire department expenses $734.44, administration expenses of $134.85 and sludge $120.

 

TREASURER/CLERK/TAX COLLECTOR BUSINESS:  3 abatement requests reviewed and placed in assessor’s basket.

Set hours for the holiday – Dec. 22 for Selectmen’s meeting before Christmas and Dec. 29 for the meeting before New Year’s Day.  Usual time of 6 pm.

 

PUBLIC BUSINESS:  G.G. Gray had questions about her daughter’s land that had been taken out of subdivision status.  She is now being taxed for one lot instead of the individual lots in the subdivision.

Gray was referred to the tax collector for possible abatement of the 2013 and 2014 taxes. Assistant to check status with assessing agent.

 

OLD BUSINESS:  Town Dock:  meeting with Jenn Paul and Andrew McCullough on the design of the dock, public hearing set for Jan. 14 at 7 pm at the town office to discuss the design.

Strong Brewing:  meeting with state inspectors, Strongs and their lawyer, selectmen and lawyer set for Monday, Dec. 14 at 1 pm. Moved, seconded, voted 2-0 to have town lawyer Patterson present.

 

NEW BUSINESS:  Two septic systems need final inspections, Grindal to ask former LPI Hutchins if he would do the final inspections so they can be covered over.

Andy Gray will fix the path at Walker Pond.

Assistant to order a recorder and two office chairs, one for selectman and one for CEO to replace broken ones.

 

CEO REPORT:  Harding Lane has two possible violations, one a path being cut, the other a driveway to the shore.  Ford called DEP to meet and check to see if there are violations.  The Peasley’s at Frank’s Flat are renovating an old building.

 

ADJOURN:  There being no further business, moved, seconded and voted 2-0 to adjourn.
