SELECTMEN’S MEETING
September 21, 2023
Opened the meeting and established a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Susan Ford. Also present: CEO Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle, Allen Kratz, Statia Nevin.
Read and approved the minutes of the last meeting as amended.
Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $14,140. Snow $8,012.81, clearing $2,590. Roads $1,700; sludge $60; Walker Pond $300; administration $1,258.59; town office equipment $218.60.
CEO REPORT: 1) Signed Versant power permit for Frank’s Flat property; 2) checked a hazard tree situation on Rope Ferry Road; 3) met with the plumber on Reach Road, he will take care of the fee;
4) plumber asked about insp0ection of another Reach Road property, did the inspection; 5) Town attorney is retiring and turning town business over to his assistant.
DISCUSSION and/or ACTION ITEMS: 1) Ergo desk request – postponed.
Nevin discussed the Hales Hill project for Sedgwick and Brooklin.
Kratz discussed several possible grants that could be applied for, especially those that combine several towns combining for rainbow smelt restoration.
UNRESOLVED BUSINESS: Ford is working with Compusult for accessing Google and updating the email systems.
Reopened meeting at 7:36 p.m. Moved, seconded and voted to accept the changes to the General Assistance program.
ADJOURN: Recessed at 6:49 p.m. Ended recess at 7 p.m., opened public hearing for General Assistance Appendices. Ended public hearing at 7:36 p.m. Adjourned the meeting at 7:38 p.m.
