SELECTMEN’S MEETING
September 14, 2023
Opened the meeting and declared a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Susan Ford, Colby Pert. Also present: CEO Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle, Greg Phillips.
There being no errors or omissions in the records of the last meeting, moved, seconded and voted to accept them as written.
Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $4,182.33.
CEO REPORT: Met with owners of a Silver Mine property regarding some hazard trees, Danny Weed is taking care of it. 2. Met with surveyors at the Dutton property on Silver Mine about shoreline setbacks. New poles have been installed on the road, not across an adjacent property as before. 3. Received solar panel plans from Revision Energy for the property on Oak Hill Lane. 4. Have contacted the Town Attorney regarding the Black Pond issues. Will arrange to have a personal meeting with him.
DISCUSSION and/or ACTION ITEMS: 1) Audit – Have treasurer and tax collector get their information to the auditor so they can start the audit.
2) Budget startup for ’24, 25 – Assistant distributed copies of last year’s figures for review.
We need another Budget Committee member
Insert Greg Phillips – He will get in touch with the heir of the property on Map 5, Lot 51 and try to purchase the property directly. Can get a quit claim from the town as soon as back taxes, lien and interest costs are caught up. Treasurer will figure out these costs.
UNRESOLVED BUSINESS: Special town meeting – 1. missed donation, 2. word change for a warrant article regarding the new laws about tax acquired property. B) Tuesday is the day for email changes to be made.
ASSISTANT’S REPORT: Still harassing the manager of Hannaford’s for paperwork to give vouchers for food under General Assistant. Public hearing on the 28th for new allowances from the state.
