SELECTMEN’S MEETING
September 12, 2019

Opened the meeting and declared a quorum. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Bob Publicover, Michael Sheahan. Also present: Jerry Wetterskog, Christine dePretoto, Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, CEO/LPI Frank Tracy, Assistant Barbara Grindle.

Read and suggest rephrasing one item. Moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to approve the minutes with the amendment.

Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $7,941.38; fees $90, m/v clearing $1,330, Mowing town house $60, mowing town office $210, town dock $252, fire department $5,973.49, administration $25.89.

CEO REPORT: Busy with a day care to open and needing septic and Planning Board approval, question regarding tanks being installed on the Mines Road – permitted, and two inspections of septic systems. Plenty of paperwork.

DISCUSSION ITEMS: Animal Control Job Description – Discussion on Animal Control job description, decided to get copies of several other towns, MMA and state descriptions, Will look into it further next week. ACO will be back then also.
Plowing – Checking into other town’s contracts and methods. Most contractors are having trouble finding drivers for snow removal. Due to a lack of drivers, discussed hourly, contract, or a combination of both? Called National Weather Service for a breakdown of last several years snowfall for reference, no response yet. More discussion, including the possibility of a referendum vote at town meeting.
Received a thank you from a taxpayer for work done on town road.

ACTION ITEMS: Still checking for a back up ACO when needed to cover vacations, etc.
Talking with S.J. Rollins about the TRIO program upgrade. Wetterskog will try to find out what is going to be needed to do the upgrade.
