Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes

Thursday July 18th, 2024

 

Opened the meeting and established a quorum. S. Ford C. Pert and B. Duffy present. Also in attendance: D. Ford and L. Dow. From the public: J. Wetterskog

Read and approve minutes from the June 27thth meeting- Motion and second to accept as written, 3-0 approved. No minutes from July 4th.

Reviewed and signed the treasurer warrant.

CEO REPORT:

Duane spoke with Ian Anderson about a new construction at Fox Run and wanted info about building rules. Blake Swensrud emailed rough plans for steps to the shore. Correspondence with Andrew McCullough about width of right of way to Oceanside Dr. He informed us that he had found a survey show a 33ft width for that right of way, which seemed correct (verified at Selectmen’s meeting to be correct). He seems to be working on the former Wood property at the shore and possibly the Manheimer property as well. Mr. Robinson in Sedgwick came into the office to get a building notification form for an addition. Duane sent a letter to Jordan Kelley and Dawn Hurd about ongoing work in the wetlands at 57 Oceanside (formerly Stumpy Cove). Jessica Valdez took out a building notification form.

 

DISCUSSION and/or ACTION ITEMS:

  1. Jeff Levine request- Jeff Levine requested to provide an update on the Comprehensive Plan progress as an upcoming meeting. The board agreed that July 18th meeting would be fine for this.
  2. Mil Rate discussion- The board met with the assessor to discuss the upcoming tax mil rate. Motion to approve a 1.35 increase taking the mil rate from $14.10 to $15.45 per $1000.00 assessment. 3-0 approved.
  3. Year-end closing-Wadman’s office provided a list of items needed to begin processing the 2023 audit. This included the contract (engagement letter) which would allow Wadman’s complete the audit. Motion and 2nd to accept the engagement letter. 3-0 approved.
