SELECTMEN’S MEETING
May 2, 2019
Opened the meeting and declared a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Michael Sheahan. Also present: Hans Carlson, CEO Frank Tracy, Assistant Barbara Grindle.
Made an addition in the minutes of the last meeting, noting that Sheahan attended the school board meeting on the 23rd of April. Moved, seconded and voted 2-0 to accept the minutes with the addition.
Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $142,724.27; fire department $1,167.92, clearing-M/V, I/F, H/F, A/W-$2,747.50, Animal Control $297.69, tarring $1,540, education $127,358, town office $60, administration $9,078.18, fees $175, general assistance $299.98.
CEO REPORT: CEO reported on and discussed a letter regarding an issue in the Shoreland Zone. He will continue refining the letter with the town attorney.
DISCUSSION ITEMS: Blue Hill Heritage Trust – Hans Carlson updated the selectmen on prospective plans on a property in Sedgwick. The Trust invited the selectmen to a meeting on May 17 at 10 a.m. to meet with the engineer.
General Assistance Notice – approved as written. Assistant will post and will make tax collector and clerk aware of appointment hours for applicants. The notice will be posted on the website.
Roadside cleanup – Reminded and discussed the roadside cleanup scheduled for this Saturday, May 4. Cleanup will start at the Deer Isle-Sedgwick bridge and continue to the Blue Hill line.
Discussed Sedgwick’s public accesses. Assistant will contact the chairman of the committee to set up a meeting date.
