TOWN OF SEDGWICK
SELECTMEN’S MEETING
March 9, 2023

Opened the meeting and established a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Susan Ford, Colby Pert. Also present: Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, CEO Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle (Donna Beninati by phone).

Read and approved the minutes of the last meeting.

Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $40,544.96.

CEO REPORT: 557 Reach Road wishedes to jack up a shed; TNT negotiatons?will continue following up; former general store in Sargentville up for sale, as is, where is, there may be a problem with septic, and parking issues; will be monitored carefully; Blueberry Ridge has a lot of workers but an incomplete plumbing permit, left a note; going through papers and watching for violations for the assessing agents.

DISCUSSION ITEMS: 1) Selection – Select Board Chairman – Nomination and second and elected Ben Astbury as chairman for the ensuing year.
2) Election Recap – Write in candidates won school board election. Reading statutes provided by Maine Municipal regarding possible conflicts to avoid problems within the school board business.
3) Unresolved Business – A resident on the Ridge Road is complaining about the noise of plow trucks working so early in the morning.
Discussed repairs needed at the Town House, also discussed an addition to a home that houses foster children; clerk will post on the website.
Astbury met with the superintendent and school attorney regarding town meeting and the school audit requirements.
Many thanks to the ballot clerks and warden. Sarah Everdell donated her wages back to the town.
