Opened the meeting and declared a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Bob Publicover, Michael Sheahan. Also present: Nathan Torrey. Hayden Torrey, Colby Pert, Fire Chief David Carter, Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, CEO Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle.

There being no errors or omissions in the minutes of the last meeting, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to accept the minutes as written.

Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $20,213.51: general assistance $987.84, fire department $1,637, town office $215, administration (wages, taxes, cleaning, work. comp.) $10,177.61, sludge $120, roads $185, Public Access (picnic table) $113, clearing $6,981.60 and fees $438.40.

NEW BUSINESS: Preparations for elections on June 12. Polls open from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Checked with clerk about ranked choice voting responsibilities. Most of the counting will be at the state level. We will use the voting machines and they will give us the numbers that we will need.
The Town Dock sign: Astbury will check with Colby Pert to see if he can make one.
Concern about wind and fire at a Public Access one day last week. Please be sure to get a fire permit if having a fire at any access. Fire Permits are given out by Dennis Robertson at Eggemoggin Country Store. Call ahead to make sure he is available.
Pert made a lovely case for the Boston Post Cane so it can be displayed at the Town Office.
Fire Chief has figures and questions about the insurance on the value of the fire department trucks replacement values and also the fire station. Clerk will contact MMA for answers to the coverage figures.
Looking for apprentice CEO. Ford is getting really busy and would like to have someone work with him. Assistant will check for old applications, and selectmen will try to find someone that would be interested. If you are interested, call the town office during the afternoon hours and leave your name with the Assistant.

OLD BUSINESS: Discussed the Auto Recycling permit with Torrey. He is acquiring additional property for the business, not only to get the required setbacks, but also to get the business away from this house and out of sight behind a buffer of trees. CEO has checked the property and says he has room for what he wants to do. Moved, seconded and voted to give him a conditional permit. Assistant will send the required papers to the state for the license.

ASSISTANT’S STUFF: Researching number for the budget committee. Will call the chair of the Public Access Committee to set up a meeting.

CEO REPORT: Call about tearing down a building, no building notice needed. Appraiser still looking for comparable sales for the Caterpillar Hill trust property, working on an Old County Road home to get it ready for occupants. New businesses need to go to the Planning Board for review.

ADJOURN: There being no further business, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to adjourn the meeting at 8:50 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Barbara Grindle, Assistant
