SELECTMEN’S MEETING
January 4, 2024
Opened the meeting and established a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Colby Pert. Also present: Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, CEO Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle.
There being no errors or omissions in the minutes of the last meeting, moved, seconded and voted to accept them as written.
Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $56,849.73: admistration $8,330.31; snow $37,500; Walker Pond Access $1166.67; general assistance $649.50; fire protection $816.67; fees $85.60; Town office $30; clearing $8,270.98.
CEO REPORT: Owner of a shorefront property on Carter Point has rebuild questions, referred him to Andrew McCullough for a plan; discussed a potential guest house at a property on Alder Lane, recommended that a soil evaluator be called because of possible wet lands; took photos of damage done at the town dock area by seaweed harvesters; inspected plumbing and renovations at a Byard Point property, they will need a bnf for a 6×12 addition; checked a Middle Cove Rd for any new work, will view the file of tax assessors for the apartment over the garage; 144 Byard Point Road has permit for a new septic but no work appears to be started; Darrell Brown reported trees down on his property, will check on them.
DISCUSSION and/or ACTION ITEMS: 1) Workshop with Budget Committee – Postponed until next week when the full select board will be present.
UNRESOLVED BUSINESS: Donna Beninati sent the press release for the next Comprehensive Plan public meeting. Moved, seconded and voted to approve the release.
Brooklin select board would like to meet to discuss the Hales Hill Bridge project. Will see if they can meet at 5:30 next week.
ADJOURN: There being no further business, moved, seconded and voted to adjourn the meeting at 6:22 p.m.
