TOWN OF SEDGWICK
SELECTMEN’S MEETING
January 24, 2019
In view of the loss of power at the town office, selectmen cancelled the budget committee meeting and emailed them the warrant to look over. Roads were flooding and trees were down, clerk/treasurer, tax collector, and CEO left for home. Opened the selectmen’s meeting at 4:45 and established a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Bob Publicover, Michael Sheahan.
Also present: Assistant Barbara Grindle.
There being no errors or omissions in the records of the last meeting, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to accept them as written.
Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $67,532.25; education $65,000.94, clearing $396, fees $34, plumbing $250, administration $94.94, road salt $1,576.37, sludge $120, fire department $45.
NEW BUSINESS: Just returned from a good visit to the PERC facility. Representatives of all three towns were present, and decided to form a small committee of one selectman and one member of the public from each town to continue discussions. A date will be set for the committee to meet.
Reviewed the letter from Ciona Ulbrich referencing support for applying for a grant for the alewife program. Will discuss it next month.
OLD BUSINESS: Reviewed the warrant for the town report, checked wording for two of the articles. Asked the budget committee to come in next week to do a final review (by email when the warrant was sent).
ASSISTANT’S STUFF: Working on the letters and reports that need to be put in the town report. School letter and warrant articles received today. Think that all are in and now just need time to get them set up.
CEO REPORT: CEO left before storm damage got worst but left his written report.
ADJOURN: There being no further business, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to adjourn the meeting at 5:20 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Barbara Grindle, Assistant
