SELECTMEN’S MEETING
December 5, 2019

Opened the meeting and declared a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Michael Sheahan. Also present: Headmaster Tim Seeley, Zoe Tenney, Brian VanEmmerick, Jon Woodward, Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, CEO/LPI Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle.

There being no errors or omissions in the minutes of the last meetings (Nov. 21 and Nov. 26) moved, seconded and voted 2-0 to accept them as written.

Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $74,113.50; administration salaries and taxes $8,383.65, administration miscellaneous $329.81, RJD Assessing $6,250, fees $101.60, clearing/M/V $140.50, clearing I/F $140.50, clearing A/W $34, Town office $369.88, general assistance $1,009.16, transfer station $26,367.50, snow $30,320.23.

CEO REPORT: Work being done on Carter Point, a driveway, power pole and digging. Digging stopped because of a water line that crosses the road and the need for a building notification. Monitoring a boathouse, people that are building a tiny house still need septic system and permits, work being done on Silvermine Road. Everything still very active.

DISCUSSION ITEMS: GSA presentation- Headmaster Seeley, Trustees Tenney and Woodward presented the need for a tuition increase and the reasons for it. Selectmen asked several questions and all agreed that more transparency and working together is a necessity. Discussions will follow on how any
increase will be handled to remove as much tax increase as possible.
Town Meeting Survey: Assistant will email the survey to the school to be included in the newsletter. Copies will also be available at the town office. Sheahan to check to see how difficult it would be to have the survey on the website.
TRIO Conversion: Discussion still ongoing.
Clerk asked about purchasing new window fans for the upcoming elections. Getting a price for them.
Christmas schedule for Selectmen: Selectmen in on Monday, December 23 at 5 p.m. and on Thursday January 2, 2020 at 5 p.m. to sign the warrant only. Check the website for hours for clerk, tax collector and assistant.
Approved a general assistance request for a creamation at the state maximum allowed.
