TOWN OF SEDGWICK
SELECTMEN’S MEETING

Opened the meeting and declared a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Bob Publicover, Michael Sheahan. Also present: CEO Duane Ford, Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, Assistant Barbara Grindle, Superintendent Bob England, Kelly Sanperi, Andrew Cyr, Nick Nowland.
There being no errors of omissions in the records of the last meeting, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to accept them as written. There being changes in the CEO report of July, 15, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to amend them.
Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $68,904.69: education $48,752.15, animal control $292, clearing – animal welfare $16, h/f $59, i/f $2,123.50, m/v $2,516.50, fees $341, administration – salaries $7,733.36, taxes $687.83, misc. $1,132.69, fire-salary $666.67, Colwell Diesel $3,128.29, misc. $1,878.53, town office equipment $644, sludge $138, general assistance $150.
CEO REPORT: A quiet week, BNF for exterior stairway, no change for Seaside Drive, rereading the Shoreland Newletter regarding new statutes for the Shoreland Ordinance (need before and after photos of the project), the Planning Board needs to review a few changes in our ordinance. Checking things out all over town. Received a communication regarding 156 Carter Point Road from DEP – has recused himself from the issue (neighbor); DEP will not be sending him any of their paperwork.
DISCUSSTION ITEMS: 1) Meet and greet with new Superintendent – England has been busy visiting the schools and GSA, finding and listing things that need to be fixed or repaired before school starts, getting acquainted with school boards and staff of all schools.
2) Any Unresolved Business – a) Checked the Snow’s Cove culvert project, no one there because of heavy rain, found that the water is running.
b) There being conflicts for the meeting and public hearing next week (Aug. 12), decided to postpone the public hearing and not have a select board meeting. Selectmen will sign the warrant only. Clerk will post information on the website and wherever it was posted around town.
PUBLIC COMMENTS: Cyr asked about signs for no jake brakes by his home. We don’t have an ordinance regulating them, so we could not enforce any signage. Understanding this, we will get information and prices on the signs and discuss at a regular meeting.
ADJOURN: There being no further business, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to adjourn the meeting at 6:41 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Barbara Grindle, Assistant
