Selectmen’s Meeting, August 31, 2017
TOWN OF SEDGWICK
SELECTMEN’S MEETING
August 31, 2017
Opened the meeting and declared a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Colby Pert, Michael Sheahan. Also present: Bob Publicover, Peter Atherton, Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, CEO Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle.
There being no errors or omissions in the minutes of the last meeting and the minutes of the special town meeting on adoption of the marijuana moratorium, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to dispense with reading the minutes of the last meeting and accept them as written.
Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $2,098.47; general assistance for $119, administration for $1,979.47.
NEW BUSINESS: Set September 14 at 7 p.m. for the public meeting to adopt the new general assistance appendices. Moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to include an advertisement in the Weekly Packet in addition to the website and posters.
Clerk swore Peter Atherton in as member of the Planning Board and Bob Publicover as alternate to the Planning Board.
Bob St. Peter was unable to be at the meeting. Sheahan reported on meeting with him at the office regarding the marijuana moratorium. St. Peter wishes to rewrite the moratorium if he can get the signatures to bring it before the selectmen. If successful, it will either be brought before a special town meeting or be put on the warrant for town meeting in March. Sheahan suggested that, after the legislature makes their regulations public, a panel be put together to become familiar with the regulations and bring them to the town for public discussion.
OLD BUSINESS: Pert will have the contractor draw up some plans for the handicap roof.
Check with clerk on the Landscape Committee members and activate it again.
Discussion on the permit for parking at the Salt Pond access. Decided to check with Next Generation to see if they have any preferences on size, etc. Will need to have some measurements of the location before bringing it to the Planning Board for approval.
Astbury will call TJW to mow the old landfill site.
CEO REPORT: Busy with a mixture of ‘stuff’. The mobile home park property is back on the market again. Planning on checking the real estate site to make sure the property is advertised accurately.
Surveyor on a Carter Point property checking property lines for possible building site.
ADJOURN: There being no further business, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to adjourn at 7:20 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Barbara Grindle, Assistant
