SELECTMEN’S MEETING
August 10, 2023

Opened the meeting and established a quorum present. Selectmen present: Susan Ford, Colby Pert. Also present: Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, CEO Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle, Greg Phillips, Carrie Jeffrey, (Robin Colburn, Christine diPretoro).

Corrected a spelling error on the minutes of the last meeting. Moved, seconded and voted to approve the amended minutes.

Reviewed and signed the treasurers warrant for $7,101.69: administration $1,400.79; sludge $60; town office $240; town house $100; fire protection $1,147.86; clearing m/v $4,153.04.

CEO REPORT: Taxpayer called about the sale of an abutting property, the purchase may be a composting business; b) there have been complaints about the Drew Eaton property at Byards Cove Road with run-off making a dark area in the ocean. DEP commented that there should have been a “Stormwater Management Plan”, suggested that contact be made with DEP; c) a landowner on No. Sedgwick Road wants to be sure he is compliance with line set backs if he sells his property; d) Darrell Brown has gotten 8 new trees planted on Walker Pond so far; e) Checked “Windward” property and everything is ok there.

DISCUSSION and/or ACTION ITEMS: 1) Allen Kratz – grant opportunities – Kratz was at another meeting, will discuss opportunities later.
2) Auditing Discussion – With Astbury absent, discussion will take place when he gets back.

UNRESOLVED BUSINESS: Bids – moved, seconded and voted to accept the bid on Map 5, Lot 51 when the paperwork is completed. Will do more research on Map 6, Lot 76.
Sis Porter Road paved today.

ASSISTANT’S REPORT – LRAP to be finished tomorrow.
