Sedgwick-Brooksville Town Landing Committee minutes for June 11, 2020

Meeting opened at 5:30pm. Adjourned at 6:00pm. Members present: Michael Sheahan, Ben Astbury, Robert Publicover, John Gray, Hal Snow, John Kimball

Actions Taken:

Motion to accept minutes of the May 14 and the May 28 meetings. All in favor.

Motion to install the gangway, install Covid-19 related signs, install a hand sanitizer on the bathroom and move the floats to the parking area. All in favor.

Discussion:

Communication from MMA answers the questions about liability, but we need to make a decision about opening.

John Kimball: So far what he’s seen and feedback from inspectors is that family groups are maintaining proper distancing and using common sense with regard to safety. Got some signs: Stop one person at a time. Keep your distance (with a graphic of two bodies and 6’) The one at a time sign could go on the gangway.

John Gray: We should try to keep it open and see what happens.

John Kimball: I don’t think we should install the floats.

Hal Snow: Happy to have it open and reconsider if cases climb.

Ben: There’s a checklist accompanying the email from MMA we need to abide by for safe operation.

Bob: We should install the gangway and not the floats.

Michael: We should keep it open if we can.

Ben: Agrees that we should try to keep facility open if we can satisfy the conditions of the checklist.and see what happens as the summer progresses. If we can satisfy the conditions of the checklist. We should move the floats up to the parking lot to get them out of the way and take away the temptation for kids to climb on them.

Michael: What should we do about the bathroom facility?

John Kimball: Has been looking for hand sanitizer dispenser and will continue to find one that’s not backordered.

John Kimball will call Billy about moving the floats to the parking lot.
