Sedgwick-Brooksville Town Landing Committee
minutes for April 8, 2021

Meeting opened at 5:30pm. Adjourned at 5:55pm. Members present: Michael Sheahan, Ben Astbury, Robert Publicover, John Gray, John Kimball

Actions Taken:
Motion to accept minutes of the December 2020 meeting. All in favor.
Motion to replace items stolen in burglary. All in favor.

Discussion:

John Kimball: Floats are ready to go in and will contact Billy about installing. Courtesy boat inspectors are lined up for April on the weekends. Margaret will work two days once we reach Memorial Day and a full schedule of boat inspecting. We have not replaced any of the stolen items: Tool kit, gas cans, and weed whacker.
Bought courtesy boat inspectors hats and there is a new sign. There are some blown down trees that need to be cleaned up.

Ben will call Jeffery Bunt about the blow-downs as well as some cleaning up along the roadway.

John Kimball: It’s not urgent but we need a plan to address issues with the path to the swim area. Resurfacing of the path, raising the bridge. Also, there is a beaver dam under the bridge at the Mill Pond.

Ben: The DOT should remove the dam under the bridge. Will call the DOT in Bangor.

John Kimball: As part of the comprehensive plan committee, put in goal of establishing a procedure to regulate the water level. The alewife committee is coming up with a plan for water regulation and will present it to the landing committee. The committee should have a record of what’s been done so that we have the data needed to make decisions. Will get in touch with Alewife Committee to present at our next meeting.
Also, suggested an inland harbor master to oversee the boat inspection program, the water level, and regulation of rules at the landing.
