TOWN OF SEDGWICK

PLANNING BOARD MINUTES

September 13, 2011

Planning Board members present:  Chairman Palmer Little, Alternate Jim Wood, Michael Rossney, John Allen, David Webb.

Also present:  CEO Duane Ford, Nelson Grindal, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Rose, Assistant to the Selectmen Barbara Grindle.

M 13, L 39.  Mr. And Mrs. Rose presented an application for a Shoreland Zoning permit for a garage/barn/storage building.  The application was turned over to the CEO for inspection and approval.  A fee of $30 was paid ($5 building notification fee and $25 shoreland zoning permit fee).

There was discussion about the permit deadline for the Peninsula Power anemometer on Frost Pond.  Chairman Little will contact Paul Trowbridge about the permit.

CEO Ford reported that Mr Spofford is ill and unable to take the Caterpillar Hill anemometer down.  He has advertised it on EBay and hopes to sell it and have it taken down.  The Planning Board turned the problem over to the selectmen and Chairman Little will attend the Thursday meeting of the Selectmen to let them know the situation.

M 1, L 19 – Mr Spofford has a DEP permit for  a gravel pit operation, but the CEO feels that he needs an after-the-fact permit from the town because of the machinery and the noise factor.  Chairman Little questioned whether Spofford needed the permit and will hold the application while he looks into the ordinance.  The CEO will check with Spofford on his business intentions.

Discussion on the Centerline Communications cell tower.  The Planning Board has approved the permit, but will not sign it until the conditions are met.  The major concern is a bond to cover the cost of removal and the ability of the town’s emergency radios to be installed on the tower.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:45pm.

Barbara Grindle, Assistant to the Selectmen
