TOWN OF SEDGWICKPLANNING BOARD MEETINGJanuary 11, 2011 The Sedgwick Planning Board met at the Town Office on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 7 pm.  Planning Board members present were Chairman Palmer Little, Secretary Sylvia Wardwell, Michael Rossney, David Webb, John Allen, and Alternate James Wood.

Also present were CEO Duane Ford, Andrew Thompson, Packet reporter Jon and Jane Thomas, Peter Neill, Charlie Wiggins, Fred Marston, Gordon Gianninoto, Jeff Buchold, Chris Eccles, and Barbara Grindle.

The Public Hearing for the communications tower was opened at 7 pm by Chairman Little.  Centerline Communications representative Andrew Thompson reported that the balloon test was done both Wednesday and Thursday because of the high winds.  He presented photos of the test from several locations and simulations of the tower at each location.  Those locations were at the intersection of Old County Road and Christy Hill Road, Sedgwick Ridge Road, Route 15 and the Radar Road.  The tower will be a monopole gray in color, 3 ft at the bottom and 18-26 inches at the top.  The tower will not be erected until at least one company has leased space.  The town’s emergency services will be added at no cost to the town.  There will be no lights on the top of the tower because the FCC doesn’t require lights on towers less than 200 ft, this tower is projected to be 195 ft. or less.  The town will be notified of any contracts being taken on the tower, probably six would be the maximum number of contracts made.  The tower will be surrounded by an 8 ft chain link fence with barbed wire on the top.  It will be locked, with any tenants having access.  Backup power will be the responsibility of the individual carrier.  Disposal and cleanup of the tower will be the responsibility of the company.            CEO Ford reported that he had sent a certified letter to Attorney Goodall regarding the renovations and repairs of the cabins on the former 4 Winds Camp property.  He feels that any repairs made will put the owners in contempt of Judge Cuddy’s court order.            The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 pm.                                                 Barbara Grindle, Assistant to the Selectmen
