Are You Registered To Vote?
If you are 18 or older, or will be 18 before election day, a citizen of the United States and a Sedgwick resident, see or call the clerk if you would like to register to vote.
The clerk is at the town office on Wednesday from 12 to 5, and Thursday, from 10 to 5. Or call the clerk, 359-2275 or 610-0585, to request a voter registration card.
To register, you will need a Maine driver’s license or some other form of identification, and proof of residency.
If you would like to help choose the president, or our senator and congressman; if you’d like to help decide who represents us in Augusta, or who the district attorney or the county treasurer is; if you’d like to vote for town officers, or decide on what we spend our property taxes, and how much, and weigh in on other local questions, register to vote.
The general election and referendum is the first Tuesday in November.
Town meeting is the first Friday and Saturday in March, unless circumstances require a change. Check this website for changes. Special town meetings can be held at other times. Watch this website, and postings at school, the post office and the 2 stores for notice of elections.
