Appeals Board, March 10, 2009
Board of Appeals, March 10, 2009
Members present: Pam Johnson, Tom Schroth, Steve Tobey, Danny Weed and Chairman Fred Marston.
Also present: Attorneys Jim Patterson and Cliff Goodall, Court Reporter Karen Dube, Packet Reporter Jon and Jane Thomas and Assistant Barbara Grindle. Planning Board member John Allen was present after the Planning Board meeting adjourned.
The meeting was called to order at 6:37 pm at the Sedgwick Town Office. Mr Patterson advised the Board to start their deliberations on Question 3, sections 15 and 16 of the Shoreland Zoning Appeal for Twister and Squall. The rest of the questions had been voted upon at the previous meeting. After finishing these, the Shoreland Zoning section of the appeal for the two bunkhouses was finished.
Next the Board had to rule on the Floodplain Management Appeal for Twister and Squall. The Director’s Cabin is out of the floodplain area. After addressing each section of the Management Plan, the Board of Appeals voted to grant the Floodplain Management permit for Twister and Squall, with the condition that they be built as designed and proposed. The Planning Board had denied the permit for the floodplain because they felt that in denying the other permits, it was a moot decision.
The next meeting – the final, final one (weather permitting) – will be March 25, 2009 at the Town Office at 6:30. The Board is reviewing the drafts of fact and decision written by Mr Patterson and he will present the final Findings of Fact and Decision for the Board’s approval.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:45pm.
Barbara Grindle, Assistant to the Selectmen
