SELECTMEN’S MEETING
January 27, 2022

Opened the meeting and declared a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Bob Publicover, Michael Sheahan. Also present: Assistant Barbara Grindle, CEO Duane Ford, Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, Leslie and Garry Schneider, Susan Ford, Pat Egan (by phone Doug Drown, Paul Trowbridge, Jeffrey Roth, Jerry Wetterskog).

There being no errors or omissions in the records of the last meeting, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to approve them as written.

Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $8,538.37: fire protection $5,709.15; town house $18.25; town office $462.90; streetlights $126.49; snow $3510; RCC/911 $726.49; general assistance $800; administration $112.32; vital records $36.40; clearing/mv $1517.

CEO REPORT: A lot going on – questions from a solar panel group; checking on contractors that are not certified for the jobs they are doing; a new road (not permitted) on Walker Pond area; cutting stopped on the adjacent lot at the Pond; talking about requirements for a temporary float; recused himself from activity on Carter Point with several people and referred them to state DEP’s Dawn Hurd; researching several things and getting ready for the February 8 Planning Board meeting and public hearing on the ordinance hearings.

DISCUSSION ITEMS: 1) Pat Egan: The first snowstorm’s plowing damaged her lawn and the driveway, the next storm she didn’t get plowed out until the next day. Water is still running into her home from the driveway. She would appreciate help fixing the problems. Select board asked her to document the problems and they will see what can be done when the weather gets better.
2) Budget workshop – non-profits: Budget committee reported on the non-profits and are waiting for the school and municipal budgets to be ready for review. Selectmen will get the municipal budget done as soon as some figures are in. Audits are not finished for either school or town. Assistant will send an excel comparison sheet as soon as the budget is done.
3) Any Unresolved Business: None

ASSISTANT’S REPORT: Received and made out an audit form for General Assistance. There are only two field examiners in the state, so they are doing a mail-in audit. If necessary they will visit. Will mail the report.

PUBLIC COMMENTS: Schneiders commented that the employees of the town certainly earn their money, but if paid what they deserve, the town could not afford to have them.

ADJOURN: There being no further business, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to adjourn the meeting at 7:03 p.m.
