Ford advised there is a lot of business for the CEO these days and the pace does not appear to be slowing any time soon.
DISCUSSION ITEMS: 1) MIL RATE DISCUSSION: Discussed the options and concurred a rate of 0.01315 would provide the town with a savings of 30 cents per thousand dollars of valuation compared to last year with an overlay of $36,824.21. $3.4 Million dollars was added to the tax rolls last year, primarily due to an uptick in new construction and renovations. Matt from RJD remarked that Sedgwick is the only town he serves that had the ability to set a lower mil rate, especially considering the issues COVID-19 presented last year. Motion made and seconded to set the rate noted above. Voted 3-0 in favor. 2) POLICY DISCUSSION: REMOTE MEETINGS: Discussed remote meetings and the date the authority to conduct them without a town policy expires on 7-30-21. Selectmen were in favor of the creation of a policy consistent with the guidance provided by MMA and would take up prior to the expiration of the current authority. All present remarked how well the system has worked and the strict legislation will dictate its use in the future. 3) UNRESOLVED BUSINESS: There was no unresolved business to report.
PUBLIC COMMENTS: None.
ADJOURN: Motion made with a second and vote 3-0 to adjourn at 6:44 PM.
