SELECTMEN’S MINUTES
October 21, 2010
Selectmen present: Nelson Grindal, Colby Pert, Victor Smith
Also present: Paul Trowbridge, Cartter and Lee Patten, Sheldon Kane, Brian Rankin, Road Commissioner Paul Carter, Fire Chief David Carter, Treasurer Cindy Reilly, Tax Collector Belinda Pert, Assistant Barbara Grindle, Packet reporter Bette Britt.
1) Minutes of the last meeting read and approved.
2) Signed the Treasurer’s warrant for $7,232.73.
3) Brian Rankin was in with questions about taxes.
4) Colby Pert reported that the school board would like the school warrant presented in the front of the town warrant instead of the middle to facilitate voting on it.
5) 80 % of the grant money from Efficiency Maine has been received. A check for $2,000 was given to Paul Trowbridge, representative of Peninsula Power, as their portion for wind tower tests. Our town office insulation project (old insulation removed and new insulation installed in the ceilings and attic) must be done by Dec. 31 to receive the balance of the money.
6) The fire department has been asked to burn the mobile home on Pertville Road. Chief Carter will check it out for safety. They have also been given a home on Caterpillar Hill to use as a training facility.
7) A meeting is to be set up with the Dept. of Marine Resources and the selectmen from Brooksville, Sedgwick and Penobscot to review Jesse Leach’s aquaculture application on the Bagaduce River.
8) Sheldon Kane was in for the annual renewal of his junkyard permit.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 pm.
