TOWN OF SEDGWICK
SELECTMEN’S MEETING
February 8, 2018

Opened the meeting and declared a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Colby Pert, Michael Sheahan. Also present: Bob Publicover, Ann Berleant, Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, CEO Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle.

There being no errors in the records, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to dispense with reading the records of the last meeting and accept them as written.

Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $169,681.99; school expenses of $161,548.77, roads $1,125, road salt $3,093.70, general assistance $117.70, town office fuel $228.83, legal fees of $80.

NEW BUSINESS: Astbury will fill out a request form for the local road program which runs from April to November.

OLD BUSINESS: Moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to hold Town Meeting, Saturday March 3 at the school. Voting on Friday, March 2 will still be at the Town House.
The warrant articles for Town Meeting will be posted at public places on February 21. Hope to have the books available by then.
Reviewed and finished the Annual Town Report.

ASSISTANT’S STUFF: Request from Sargentville Library to have a program at the Town House on August 8 approved.

CEO REPORT: Harbor busy, a scallop boat is in, there are people staying on a boat also. Brian Tripp broke ice up in the harbor for them. Harbormaster is checking with one more company regarding new floats. Treasurer feels that we can pay for what floats we need from the Town Dock account. Ford has sent a copy of the Shoreland Zoning changes to DEP to check for any obvious problems. Has had a report from a taxpayer that Frost Pond has risen 8 feet in the past 10 years. Possible beaver problem?

Opened the Public Hearing on the Amusement Permit application for Strong Brewing Co.
at 7 p.m. with only four persons plus the selectmen present. Mia Strong was present to explain what their plans are for the summer and fall. There were no comments from anyone present. Selectmen moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to grant the permit upon receipt of the permit fee.
