SELECTMEN’S MEETING
November 3, 2016
Opened the meeting and established a quorum present at 6:12 p.m. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Neil Davis, Colby Pert. Also present: Robert Vaughn, Robert Jones, Christine diPretoro, Fire Chief David Carter, CEO Duane Ford, Tax Collector Elizabeth Gray, Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, Assistant Barbara Grindle.
Moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to dispense with reading the minutes from last week and accept them as written.
Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $42,142.70; salaries of $8,633.37 and FICA taxes of $671.55, snow payment # 2 of $28,571.43, general assistance $346.35, fire department $577.68.
OLD BUSINESS: New Fire Truck: Chief Carter updated the board on the specifications and information for the new fire truck. They are getting ready to order it for delivery in 2018. They have settled on a vendor and are working on pricing and logistics. He showed the board drawings and explained some of the changes that may be made.
Town dock project: Davis has discussed the project with engineer McCullough. The holdup is the aluminum gangway reinforcement. The newest starting date is Nov. 10.
Town Office Repairs: Pert updated the Board on the status of the repairs to the doors and the handicap bathroom.
There are beaver issues on Black’s Pond.
NEW BUSINESS: The representative from Peninsula Ambulance Corps, President Bob Vaughn, updated the board on a possible $4 per capita increase for next year and possibly up to the next three years.
Christ diPretoro updated the board on the meeting at the school for the search for a new principal.
CEO REPORT: Assisted Pert with the visit to West Sedgwick properties. Working with Planning Board Chairman Jones on the upcoming meeting next Wednesday.
ADJOURN: There being no further business, it was moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to adjourn at 7:58 p.m.
