TOWN OF SEDGWICK

SELECTMEN’S MEETING

April 28, 2016

 

Opened the meeting and declared a quorum present.  Selectmen present:  Colby Pert, Neil Davis.  Also present:  Nelson Grindal, Robert Jones, Bob Publicover, Kim Allen, Steve and Johanna Fill, Road Commissioner Paul Carter, Treasurer Cindy Reilly, Assistant Barbara Grindle.

 

Read and approved the minutes of the last meeting, voted 2-0 to accept.

 

Read and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $56,591.75; education costs $53,586.22 and administration costs of $79.78.

 

OLD BUSINESS:  Decided to talk with the assessing agent about Caterpillar Hill Initiative’s application for exempt status.

CEO is to check on the location of a septic design on Rope Ferry Road.

Walker Pond:  Grindal will take care of cutting bushes and trees, and hopes to have the trail ready by Memorial Day.  The clean up is being done and the bridge is waiting for a stump grinder to take care of stumps and then it can be finished.

Carter is scheduling tarring on Hales Hill and the Old County Roads for this summer.

 

NEW BUSINESS:  Kim Allen will do the mowing and trimming of the town office and town house lawns this summer.  He will start clean-up as soon as it is warm enough.

The Hearse House will be shingled in mid May, weather permitting.

The Fills notified the selectmen that they are applying to the Planning Board for an auto repair business at 135 Reach Road.  They got information on abutters and maps while here.

Voted 2-0 to accept the Planning Board’s suggestions for the entertainment ordinance application.  Assistant will make up a form for the application, and the Board will discuss what is needed on the permit form.
