Selectmen’s Meeting
August 30. 2007 Thursday 6:30PM
Selectmen present: Chairman Nelson Grindal, Bill Jagger and Tom O'Connor. Other participants: Selectmen’s assistant Barbara Grindle, Code enforcement officer Duane Ford, Access committee members Emily Webb and Diane Kornmeir, Jim Dow, Pam Johnson and Peter Sly of the Blue Hill Heritage Trust, Kathy Flood of the Friends of Walker Pond, Lynn Casey, Sarah and Phil Gwynn, North Strurtevant, Engineer Andrew McCullough and Town attorney Jim Patterson.
- Selectmen approved the minutes of the August 28, 2007 selectmen’s meeting.
- Selectmen approved the Treasurers warrant (#9) in the amount of $2,246.50.
- A meeting was held with land abutters and other interested parties concerning the town owned property on Walker Pond. A detailed discussion was held concerning the Town’s plans to develop the beach area and the impact it would have on various abutters. Attendees were provided with the preliminary engineering report prepared by Mr. McCullough along with drawings of the purposed beach, boat launch and parking area. Also presented was a draft copy of an ordinance which would govern use of the beach area. Mr. Strurtevant who was representing the family which owns the property abutting the town property to the south, requested to be keep up to date on details as they become available through the detailed engineering study which is to begin immediately. Mr. McCullough and selectmen agreed to keep all parties apprised of new developments. It was agreed that the purposed road would follow the existing dirt road and then branch off, following an old logging road where it will connect with the town property.
- Selectmen voted 3 to 0 to continue the extension granted (August 9, 2007) to the attorney for the Goldsby/Osborn property for a reasonable amount to time to finalize the consent agreement between the town and property owners. Attorney Paterson is working out the details.
