SELECTMEN’S MEETING
December 22, 2015
Opened the meeting and declared a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Neil Davis, Nelson Grindal. Also present: Robert Jones, Bob P:ublicover, GG Gray, CEO Duane Ford, Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, Assistant Barbara Grindle.
Read and approved the minutes of the last meeting, voted 3-0 to accept.
Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $95,075.05; education was $91,618.48, sludge 120, Emera $438.62 for streetlights, town office, town house, and fire department electricity, other fire department bills amounted to $221.86.
PUBLIC BUSINESS: Discussed tax bills and liens with Gray, must discuss recordkeeping requirements with tax collector to resolve questions regarding the property.
OLD BUSINESS: Davis to call a taxpayer regarding taxes on a property that was sold during the year.
Davis has been attending school improvement meetings. Provided update on the school budget which is scheduled to be in front of the budget committee Jan. 21.
NEW BUSINESS: Discussed the town budget, set workshop for the first Thursday of January (Jan. 7). Will call Fire Chief and Road Commissioner in for their budget next week and will ask the Budget Committee to start meeting in January.
CEO REPORT: Reviewing the site review ordinance. It is badly out of date. Checking paperwork for LPI to get up to date. Making a point of letting people know that Sedgwick is not anti-business; rules apply to everyone.
ADJOURN: There being no further business, it was moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to adjourn at 7:40 pm.
