SELECTMEN’S MINUTES
October 2, 2014
Opened the meeting and established a quorum. Selectmen present: Neil Davis, Nelson Grindal, Victor Smith. Also present: Robert Jones, CEO Duane Ford, Treasurer Cindy Reilly, Assistant Barbara Grindle.
Read and approved the minutes of the last meeting.
Signed the treasurer’s warrant for $201,372.32; school
$186, 549.28, salaries $9,072.85, fire department $1,708.91.
OLD BUSINESS: Discussed the 10 applicants’ qualifications for the tax collector’s job. Assistant to set up appointments for four finalists. A decision needs to be made soon so the new collector can accept the commitment and take the classes for motor vehicle registrations scheduled for late October.
No more news on the Salt Pond situation.
NEW BUSINESS: One taxpayer with questions on his farmland property. Assistant will contact him when the assessor’s agent is coming back so he can discuss questions with him.
John and Spencer Allen agreed to allow the town to make a bus turn-around on their Pertville Road property.
CEO REPORT: Call from the Habitat for Humanity group putting in a home on the Ridge Road. We have no building code or occupancy permit regulations in town.
He has attended a seminar on floodplain regulations and maps.
Keeping an eye on the Salt Pond property.
ADJOURN: There being no further business, the motion was made, seconded, and voted 3-0 to adjourn the meeting at 6:58 pm.
