TOWN OF SEDGWICK

SELECTMEN’S MEETING

June 19, 2014

 

            Opened the meeting and established a quorum present.  Selectmen present:  Neil Davis, Nelson Grindal, Victor Smith.  Also present: Robert Jones, CEO Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle.

 

            Read and approved the minutes of the last meeting.

 

            Signed the treasurer’s warrant for $4,257.62.  Paid the Fairpoint and Emera bills and also S.J. Rollins for the extra service time.

 

            Tax Collector will be on vacation for the week of July 1 as usual. 

            Selectmen will meet on Tuesday, July 1 at 6 pm instead of their usual Thursday because of the 4th of July holiday.

            Clerk received a quote from the Grindle Agency for insurance.  Compared to the policy from MMA.  Representative from MMA will be available for explanations of their policy.

 

OLD BUSINESS:          Electricity problems completed for the present.

            Town Dock grant papers received by Dennis DeSilvey to be sent to the state.

            Tax Reassessment interviews being held this week.  Smith to be in the office Monday, Grindal in the office Tuesday, and Davis to be in the office Wednesday.

            Rope Ferry Road and Herrick Road have been tarred.

            The parking lot at the Town House is being worked on in preparation for the July display and programs by the Historical Society.

           

NEW BUSINESS:  A public hearing needs to be scheduled for the yearly adoption of the General Assistance guidelines, and the request for the Salt Pond accessession of property.  Patterson Law Office has been asked to draw up papers.

 

CEO REPORT:             CEO needs to walk a property on Oceanside Road to see what permits are needed.  Comerford has received permits for work, and still keeping an eye on the Williamson steps.  Work will be starting soon on the Martin property on Carter Point.  Will be in Ellsworth next Thursday for a Shoreland Zone informational meeting.

 

            There were no public comments.

 

There being no further business, the motion was made, seconded and voted 3-0 to adjourn at 7:05 pm.
