TOWN OF SEDGWICK
SELECTMEN’S MEETING
June 12, 2014
Opened the meeting and established a quorum present. Selectmen present: Neil Davis, Nelson Grindal, Victor Smith. Also present: Robert Jones, CEO Duane Ford, Treasurer Cindy Reilly, Tax Collector Belinda Pert, Road Commissioner Paul Carter, Assistant Barbara Grindle.
Read and approved the minutes of the last meeting.
Signed treasurer’s warrant for $112,604.47; including $107,618.69 for school expenses, $480 for ballot clerks (thanks to David and Jan Anderson and Bill Pettingill for donating their time)and fire department expenses of $940.93.
PUBLIC BUSINESS: Linda Nelson spoke to the selectmen about the Bridge dedication and invited them to take part in the ceremony.
Arthur Anderson had questions about his taxes and also the house behind his home, which is owned by his son.
Robert Starkey volunteered to be on the Planning Board.
Dr. Wilgram mentioned again about the good job done by Warden Brian Tripp at the Walker Pond access. He feels that the town should reward him for it, but since he is a state employee, the town is not allowed to do so. Dr. Wilgram also repeated his complaints about the speeding on the Pond. It is a state-owned waterway, therefore all regulations and enforcement are state responsibility.
OLD BUSINESS: Grindal to email the prices for the Town Dock work to Dennis DeSilvey.
Things are ready to work on the Town House parking lot.
The field behind the Town Office will be mowed this summer when the time is right and Tobey has time to do it.
Remind the Public Access Committee that we own the Walter Green property, need to keep it in case we need emergency finances or some project that might utilize the property for the town.
NEW BUSINESS: See Public business.
CEO REPORT: Checking on paperwork for the camps on the pond. Signed utility papers for a resident, received permit papers and fees for another resident, and gave permits papers for steps to the shore to a contractor. Next week he will have a meeting with DEP’s Stephanie McLagan.
ADJOURN: There being no further business, it was moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to adjourn at 7:45 pm.
