SELECTMEN’S MEETING
May 1, 2014
Opened the meeting at established a quorum present. Selectmen present: Neil Davis, Nelson Grindal, Victor Smith. Also present: Fred Marston, Linda Long, Robert Jones, Treasurer Cindy Reilly, CEO Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle.
Read and approved the minutes of the last meeting.
Signed the treasurer’s warrant for $113,641.66; school expenses were $99,798.45, fire department expenses of $1,389.76, general assistance of $500, flags for the veterans graves $270, and administration expenses were $7,815.82.
TAC COLLECTOR, TREASURER, CLERK BUSINESS: Clerk will keep list of building notifications for auditors and will give a copy to CEO and Assistant monthly. Will call Ed about mowing lawns as soon as he gets home from Florida.
PUBLIC BUSINESS: Long and Marston requested that the selectmen consider improving the parking lot at the Town House in preparation for historical programs this summer. They will check into expanding the area and placing more gravel in the typically muddy spots. All agreed that it is a job that has needed to be done for some length of time.
OLD BUSINESS: Town Dock – boards have been replaced on the dock, many have quite a lot of rot. More extensive work will be done later.
Tax Reassessment – Agent will be in soon. Last part of May or the first week of June will mail letters to property owners. Property owners should call the week of June 16 – 20 to make appointments if they need to speak to the assessors about their assessment. Appointments will be held during the week of June 23 – 27.
Cellar – shelves are in and ready for use. Some other walls are left to do.
Rope Ferry Road – waiting for the weather!
NEW BUSINESS: Davis will talk with last year’s mower about mowing this year before making a decision about who will do the work.
CEO REPORT: The new flood maps are here, now many changes for us.
ADJOURN: There being no more business, motion made and seconded to adjourn. Voted to adjourn at 7:20 pm.
