This listing of Sedgwick Marriages and Intentions of Marriages were transcribed from the original, handwritten records of the Sedgwick Town Clerks. These early marriage records did not appear chronologically and were interspersed among the daily entries of the clerk so Barbara Grindle went through each volume of the early town clerk books and transcribed the information in the order in which it was documented.  The transcription was complicated by the poor condition of the books, faded ink and the writing style of each clerk that could vary from pristine to illegible but Barbara enjoyed the challenge and compiled as complete and accurate a record as possible.
